BJJ Barber Shop began with Jefferson (or JJ, as we know him), a passionate Brazilian barber with big dreams. JJ brought his enthusiasm for style, grooming, and community from Brazil straight to Brisbane, launching his vision in 2021—a space built around great cuts, good vibes, and genuine connections.
We believe a barber visit should be more than just a quick haircut. At BJJ Barber Shop, we offer precision cuts, expert beard care, eyebrow design, facial waxing, and colour services—all delivered in a spacious, relaxed venue designed for your comfort.

Meet JJ – Barber
JJ is an experienced barber known for precise fades, classic scissor work, and consistent results across all hair types. Originally from Brazil, he built his career through busy shop environments, refining his technique and developing a loyal client base.
Now based in Brisbane, JJ combines years of hands-on experience with a relaxed, welcoming approach in the chair. His focus is simple: understand what each client wants, deliver a clean, well-balanced cut, and make sure the experience feels just as good as the result.
As the founder of BJJ Barber Shop, JJ leads the team with professionalism, good energy, and a strong commitment to quality service.
Meet Victor – Barber
Victor is an experienced Brazilian barber known for clean fades, smooth blends, and consistent results across a wide range of styles and hair types. He’s worked in busy shop environments, building strong technique and a steady, detail-focused approach to every cut. Friendly and easy to talk to, Victor keeps the experience relaxed while making sure you walk out looking fresh. He speaks English, Portuguese, and Spanish, and enjoys connecting with clients from all kinds of backgrounds. Now based in Australia, Victor is part of the BJJ Barber Shop team, bringing good energy, professionalism, and quality work to every appointment.
Meet Sara – Admin & Creative Guru
Sara is the friendly face you’ll often see around BJJ Barber Shop, snapping photos and filming videos for our socials. With a background in accounting, she’s been crucial in helping JJ understand the ins-and-outs of managing a thriving business, from admin tasks to ensuring everything stays organised behind-the-scenes.
She’s also our resident creative, bringing fresh ideas to life through designing posts, crafting engaging content, and sharing her vision for how the shop should look and feel. Occasionally, you might catch Sara answering JJ’s work phone—just a heads-up, she’s not yet fluent in Portuguese, but she’s always happy for clients to practice their English with her!
Outside the shop, Sara is a qualified primary school teacher with a special passion for working with children with special needs. She’s also an ESL teacher for adults. Right now, she’s diving deeper into modern marketing strategies, advertising, and website development to help the barber shop grow even further—especially important as she and JJ have recently had their very first child ! 💈📸✨
